The “Danny Dog – Believe in Second Chances” school program celebrated a milestone April 25 at Sage Canyon Elementary in Carmel Valley. It marked the 60th school visit since the award-winning, nonfiction children’s book, Danny Dog, was released.
Myrna Zambrano, District Director for California State Senator Toni Atkins (39th District), was on hand to present author Sid Shapira with a certificate of recognition in honor of the milestone event.
The inscription reads as follows: “Congratulations on your work and dedication to spread the important message about pet rescue, adoption and second chances.”
An enthusiastic audience of kindergarten, first and second grade students enjoyed hearing the inspiring story of the rescue dog’s journey to find his forever home. And, they were thrilled to meet the subject of the book, Danny.
