Danny took his book tour on the road last week. We visited Seattle (Nov. 13-16) and the little Shih Tzu had a great time!
He handled his first plane trip like a pro. Aside from a couple of barks as we departed San Diego, he was calm as could be. On the return flight from Seattle, he didn’t utter a peep. Who knows if our rescue dog had ever been on a plane before, but he sure seemed comfortable. His new friends at Alaska Airlines loved having him aboard.
The main purpose of our visit to Seattle was to see our friends from Emerald City Pet Rescue (the organization that cared for Danny before we adopted him) and hold a book signing on Saturday, Nov. 15 at their brand new facility in the SoDo (south of downtown) district of Seattle. And, what an amazing facility it is! We enjoyed meeting all the nice people at the book signing and Danny was in great demand for photos.
A day earlier, we visited the West Seattle Montessori School where we read Danny Dog to four classrooms of children (ages 3 to 6). The kids loved the story, asked lots of good questions, and smothered Danny with attention.
We certainly had a wonderful time in Seattle and thanks again to everyone at Emerald City Pet Rescue for their great hospitality!
Meanwhile, there’s no rest for the little Shih Tzu. This week, we have two school visits scheduled, along with a book signing on Saturday, Nov. 22 at Fair Trade Décor in Del Mar (1412 Camino Del Mar).
If you can’t make it to a book signing, please visit: www.dannyrescuedog.com for more information and to order the book. With the holidays coming up, the book makes the perfect children’s gift!
